About Readwell
I’m a graduate in Copy Editing and Proofreading, with distinction, and also in Copywriting, again with distinction, both from The College of Media and Publishing. Pricing (See here for definitions)
Basic Proofreading
0.8p per word. Includes finding and correcting errors in grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting. It essentially error-checks but does not edit content or remove any other errors. The minimum price for a document is £25.
Copy-Editing (Recommended)
1p per word. Includes consistency of style, flow, clarity and focus. Checks that footnotes are correct. Improves wording and alters paragraph and sentence layout where necessary without adding to and deleting content. Brings document size down to the correct word count. Includes proofreading too.
Note that appendices and bibliographies need to be included in the word count.
More Comprehensive Editing
Sometimes a lot of editing is necessary to improve the overall structure and layout. I will advise if this is necessary upon receiving the document. The editing price is then raised to 1.2p a word. Normally this is not necessary.
The minimum editing price for a document is £25.
