Terms and Prices

Readwell likes to be transparent with pricing. But if you want to just email us we will be happy to discuss your project, help you with what will be needed, and give you a quote. Please try us!

There are normally Four Levels of Pricing according to the length of your document and the Depth of Editing required. Don’t worry if it’s hard to know what applies to you. I can advise you of what is necessary if you are unsure.

1/ Proofreading. 0.8p per word. Normally carried out when the content of the document is complete. Includes formatting, spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc.

               Up to 4000 words – £32          5000 words – £40          10000 words – £80          40000 words – special offer £300   

2/ Copy Editing. 1p per word. Level 1 plus more intervention in Language and Phrasing. When the text requires some structural editing and tidying up of sentences and occasional rephrasing, plus some reconstruction and rewriting to maximize flow, clarity, tone, and focus, to suit its target audience.  Also checking the accuracy of links, dates, names, indexes and numbered lists.  

               Up to 4000 words – £40          5000 words – £50          10000 words – £100          40000 words – Special Price £350

3/ Comprehensive Editing. 1.2p a word – Get me to quote you on documents over 50,000 words. When all the above is insufficient to produce a quality document, due to the need to spend more time rewriting larger sections and altering the layout and structure of the document. The client will be contacted before starting the editing process if this is considered necessary. Includes Levels 1-2 plus more substantive editing.

               Up to 4000 words min price – £48          5000 words – £60          10000 words – £120          40000 words –  £480

4/ Copywriting. This is creating and writing your material for you according to the brief you supply. Typically 1.5p a word (5000 words would thus be £75) but I will quote per job.

Full Payment Upon Booking preferred. Pay by Card or Bank Transfer. Receipt will be sent upon clearance of funds.

If you are unhappy with any specific aspects of the finished work just let me know. I will rectify free of charge if within the original brief.
